Metro
A compact world built around three central novels and the Metro game series, from the Moscow tunnels to the journey of Exodus.
Metro begins in the tunnels beneath a ruined Moscow, where stations have become small political societies and the surface is a dangerous frontier. Dmitry Glukhovsky's novels use that setting to combine post-apocalyptic survival with ideology, fear and the stories people build to explain the unknown.
4A Games adapted Metro 2033 and then developed its own continuation around Artyom. The games share the atmosphere and many ideas of the books but are not a scene-by-scene transcription, which makes Metro one of the clearest examples of a literary world becoming a distinct game continuity.
